Parent-Infant Psychotherapist post within the Hillingdon Community Perinatal Mental Health Service. The position is open to applicants who have substantial years post‑qualification experience; candidates with less significant years post‑qualification experience may also be considered.
Job SummaryThe parent‑infant psychotherapist will play a significant role in contributing to specialist interventions for families offered extended period of care and providing psychotherapeutic treatment promoting the quality of the relationship between mother and her infant.
Responsibilities- Assess, treat and discharge clients in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Formulate, document, implement and review psychotherapeutic treatment plans for women with complex perinatal mental health problems.
- Provide specialist parent‑infant interventions, group therapeutic interventions and outreach clinics.
- Conduct risk assessment and develop risk management plans.
- Offer evidence‑based audit, policy development and research activity.
- Lead clinical work, supervise staff and coordinate care pathways.
- MSc or equivalent in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology or other recognised psychotherapeutic degree.
- Post‑graduate training in child and/or adult psychotherapy at an accredited institution.
- Experience in perinatal mental health and parent‑infant interventions.
- Proven ability to formulate, devise and manage psychotherapeutic treatment plans.
- Experience of supervising clinical work and dealing with safeguarding concerns.
- Masters level pre‑clinical training at an Association of Psychotherapists recognised training school.
- Parent‑Infant Psychotherapy training.
- Experience of teaching, training and presenting in professional settings.
- Extensive experience of specialist psychotherapeutic assessment and treatment of pregnant and postpartum women.
- Skill in managing complex high‑risk perinatal cases and providing autonomous practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to conduct audit and research in perinatal mental health.
- Current UK professional registration.
Part‑time;
Permanent, Band 8a, Salary £61,631‑£68,623.
