Responsibilities

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care with the multidisciplinary team and patients’ families.

As a Band 7 Emergency Department Nurse, you will supervise nursing and support staff on a shift basis, be in charge of the department, and ensure quality and safety, high standards of patient care, and efficient patient flow throughout the department. You will lead a team of nurses and take responsibility for quality and safety initiatives in ED.

About the Department

The emergency department at Barnet Hospital operates as a trauma unit with eight resuscitation bays, including designated cubicles for children and trauma patients. You will be supported by 2.5 matrons and a team of three practice facilitators who support training for all staff across the ED. We employ children’s and adult ACPs and actively encourage staff development through ACP training for experienced ED staff.

Our department also has an active research profile, led by our clinical lead.
