Job Title: Administrative/ Patient Experience Officer - Band 3
Location: Wood Green Community Diagnostic Centre
Contract: Permanent, full-time
An exciting opportunity to join the administration team at the Wood Green Community Diagnostic Centre. Contribute to improving patient pathways and be part of a transformative and innovative service. This is a rotational post between Hornsey central, Whittington and Wood Green sites.
Job Responsibilities- Act as point of contact for patients and their representatives contacting the modalities and specific areas within imaging, phlebotomy, and ophthalmology.
- Ensure the electronic appointment work list is monitored, that all appointments are made within specified waiting time requirements, and that relevant paperwork is correctly filed.
- Ensure that relevant patient data is recorded in a complete and confidential manner in accordance with Trust policy.
- Work closely with the service lead in the assigned modality to ensure the smooth running of the service and assist with implementing any necessary changes.
- Maintain modality diaries and coordinate the requirements of each modality service; provide efficient administration support to Admin/Clerical teams and clinical teams.
- Be a point of contact for patients to provide feedback and liaise with management on key themes; attend focus groups and engage referrers to promote CDC services.
Essential
- Qualifications:
NVQ 3 or equivalent. - Experience:
Experience of working in a busy office environment, making appointments, solving problems, and engaging with the general public. - Skills and Behaviour:
Competent in computer skills (Word, Excel); excellent communication; ability to stay calm in challenging situations; ability to plan and prioritise workload and meet deadlines; good time management and organisational skills; ability to work autonomously or as part of a team; customer-oriented approach.
Desirable
- NHS experience; hospital experience; experience in a multicultural environment; experience supervising others; ability to use Electronic Records (EPR) or equivalent systems; ability to use PowerPoint.
- Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection Act requirements; strong motivation and initiative; diplomacy and confidentiality; ability to work autonomously and in a team; empathy and able to work under pressure; good stress management; customer-focused approach; knowledge of medical terminology (desirable).
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required as part of safeguarding and recruitment processes.
