They will take the lead in working alongside teams to help them understand how LUCI could augment their current work and also support new ways of working, design, co-ordinate and deliver training, leading programmes such as 'train the trainer' to ensure sustainability. They will provide input, using their clinical expertise, into the development of new platforms and ensure that the clinical end-user is held in mind throughout the design process.

duties of the job

Contribute as a specialist clinical advocate and representative in the development and implementation of projects within the clinical informatics service. Providing direct support during periods of system implementation within the clinical environment.

Support the risk and governance processes for the Clinical Informatics Service in conjunction with the Clinical Leads.

Validate clinical data to ensure that all data outputs accurately represent valid clinical constructs.

Maintain close links with the Digital and Quality Improvement teams to ensure early identification of quality improvement opportunities, consistently ensuring best practice and safety.

Work directly with clinical departments and the Clinical Governance Facilitators in managing and mitigating clinical risks identified in relation to our digital output.

Provide advice, information and guidance in relation to health informatics to enhance the quality of care and developments in clinical practice.

Represent the needs of both patients and clinical staff within the development of clinical informatics tools.

The CIS is responsible for the development and maintenance of the platform LUCI (locating useful clinical information), a data platform that uses new analytics techniques to extract value from data and summarise it back to clinicians to support direct clinical care and service design and delivery. LUCI uses interactive visualisation to feedback data to clinicians in ways that maximise their ability to quickly extract relevant insights and interact with the data.

Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone
2) and is within walking distance from the beautiful green spaces of Ruskin park and the vibrant high-street that offers great shopping opportunities and with a wide range restaurants.

The South London & Maudsley (SLaM) Clinical Informatics Service (CIS) has been set up to provide informatics capability to support clinical decision making in direct care. Our aim is to enable SLaM staff to use clinical data to inform their decision making at individual patient and service levels to improve the quality and equity of the care delivered. Our work will be directed by the questions identified as important by clinicians and our tools developed iteratively with the teams who will be using them in their routine practice, translating the unique data resources and clinical informatics research and expertise within the Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to build a learning health system that solves practical problems within the trust.
