Senior MSK Physiotherapist in Occupational Health
Post: 37.5 hours p/w Monday to Friday.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 MSK physiotherapist to join our Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service. This post will provide specialised physiotherapy services for KCH staff and external contracts with musculoskeletal conditions where your MSK expertise will be highly valued. The role will work autonomously to assess, treat, and manage all referrals.

- A qualified and HCPC-registered senior MSK Physiotherapist with strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- A collaborative team player who can work effectively with a range of stakeholders across the Trusts.
- Active knowledge and exposure to NHS physiotherapy pathways.

Key Responsibilities- Independently assess, diagnose and treat employees via the King's College Hospital Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service, including those with complex MSK presentations, and develop individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Manage referrals, maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records and communicate effectively with the Occupational Health team.
- Work as an effective member of the Occupational Health (OH) team, communicating with patients, managers, human resource advisors and other team members as required.
- Use advanced clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment techniques grounded in current evidence-based practice.
- Support the Advanced Specialist Occupational Health Physiotherapist, assisting the daily running of the service and involvement in the development of the staff Physiotherapy service.
- Deliver workplace-focused rehabilitation: assess fitness for work, recommend reasonable adjustments, and support staff in returning to or remaining in work safely.
- Deliver physiotherapy in different locations (e.g., OH Department at King's College Hospital Denmark Hill and at Orpington Hospital); may cover other clinics or site visits in staff workplaces.
Essential
- Education and
Qualifications:
HCPC Registered; a degree in Physiotherapy; postgraduate training/qualification in management of MSK conditions. - Knowledge and
Experience:
experience in acute and chronic treatment physiotherapy service; awareness of Clinical Governance; understanding of current OH initiatives/issues. - Skills and
Competencies:
good communication skills, professional initiative and independence, good teamwork, ability to implement treatments appropriately and provide feedback to senior clinicians.
Desirable
- Experience in an Occupational Health or Vocational Rehabilitation physiotherapy role; OH clinical setting experience; ability to organise training days/courses.
