Position: Physiotherapy Lead for Emergency Department Therapy Team
Location: Greater London

Band 7 Physiotherapy Team Lead – Emergency Department Therapy Team

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and caring individual with good communication and interpersonal skills to join our Emergency Department Therapy Team at University Hospital Lewisham. The post holder will work alongside the Occupational Therapy band 7s, with support from the Inpatient Lead Physiotherapist, to lead and develop therapy services within the Emergency Department (ED) at University Hospital Lewisham.

Key Responsibilities
  • Large clinical caseload; clinical governance activity; supervision and development of Band 6, 5, 4 and assistant staff within the Emergency Department Therapy Team.
  • Provide clinical education to undergraduates.
  • Coordinate a rolling programme of audit and training within the pathway.
  • Develop and maintain senior respiratory physiotherapy skills and competence; contribute to the on‑call and emergency weekend respiratory and ED physiotherapy rota.
  • Lead and develop therapy services within patient groups:
    Acute Medicine, Frailty, and Falls.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in an Emergency Department and/or Same Day Emergency Care setting.
  • Experience working with patients presenting with frailty.
  • Commitment to development and the ability to work as a Band 7 physiotherapist.
  • Ability to develop and maintain senior respiratory physiotherapy skills.
