Clinical Research Nurse In Dementia

Key Responsibilities

• Travel regularly to the memory service at Charing Cross Hospital for participant recruitment.
• Lead the day‑to‑day running of clinical studies, including recruitment, participant‑facing activities and data collection.
• Coordinate and conduct participant visits and study‑related activities in line with Good Clinical Practice.
• Provide participants with the knowledge and directions to facilitate and maintain informed consent throughout their study contribution.
• Ensure familiarity and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all elements of Research Governance.
• Maintain competency in all clinical and research skills in line with Trust policy, including chemotherapy administration, cannulation, phlebotomy, laboratory techniques, Intermediate Life Support and other ICRF‑required competencies.
• Act as a knowledgeable resource for staff and researchers, advising on matters related to clinical practice and research and promoting an active and effective research culture.
• Maintain continuous professional development academically and clinically, and continuously develop research skills and their application.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date record of all training activities as required by the ICRF.
• Coordinate own portfolio of clinical studies.
• Deputise for the Lead Nurse when required and assist in managing staff attendance, poor performance, disciplinary and grievance issues in the clinical area.

• Skillful and committed nurse with knowledge of clinical research.
• Strong background in clinical skills, particularly venepuncture and cannulation.
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, cannulation, phlebotomy, laboratory techniques, and Intermediate Life Support.
• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and research governance.
