Care Assistant – Saturday Home Care (10:00 – 13:00)
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate female Care Assistant to provide Saturday morning domiciliary care for an elderly client in St John’s Wood, Westminster (NW8). The role involves delivering respectful, person‑centred support to a wheelchair‑using client, with a key requirement of basic spoken Italian to support day‑to‑day communication and emotional wellbeing. This focused, weekly role is suited to a carer who values continuity, calm engagement, and high standards of personal care within a private home setting.
Key Responsibilities- Personal Care:
Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting; support mobility using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safety. - Domestic Support:
Perform household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and ironing; plan, prepare, and feed meals; manage shopping needs independently or accompanying the client to ensure adequate supplies. - Companionship and Social Support:
Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging the client in meaningful conversations and activities; encourage and support participation in social and recreational activities; accompany the client to appointments, social events, or outings as required. - Health Monitoring:
Observe and report any changes in the client’s health, behaviour, or needs to the appropriate personnel; maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of care provided, incidents, and observations; assist in the development and review of personalised care plans, ensuring they reflect current needs and preferences. - Compliance and Professionalism:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding; participate in mandatory training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities; maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times, representing the company positively.
- Qualifications:
Relevant NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it. - Driving:
Valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable). - Experience:
Previous experience in a care setting is advantageous but not essential. - Experience with individuals with diverse needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, or dementia, is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and dignity.
This role requires flexibility, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays; hours will be agreed upon appointment and may vary based on client requirements.
Additional Requirements- Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Willingness to travel within the service area and occasionally attend meetings or training sessions outside regular hours.
