Are you an experienced and motivated Sonographer who would like to join our vibrant and dynamic team to develop your paediatric ultrasound scanning skills?
Here at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, we have referrals to our Ultrasound Department from almost all the specialities seen here in our hospital. Most of the referrals come from our urology, nephrology and oncology departments. This varied, complex and interesting case mix facilitates learning every day.
Serving a split site 5 scanner rooms paediatric ultrasound service, we are supported in our work with distraction aids and have access to play specialists to assist in the successful scanning of patients with complex needs. Our supportive and innovative department provides an excellent diagnostic service to patients, parents and families.
You will be part of a team of committed sonographers and ancillary staff and should have exceptional imaging, reporting, communication and interpersonal skills.
The salary includes a 15% Recruitment and Retention premium, acknowledging the challenges associated with the current national shortage of Sonographers.
Main duties of the job- To carry out highly specialist clinical ultrasound imaging duties in a paediatric tertiary referral centre.
- To interpret and provide specialist clinical diagnostic judgement on the ultrasound findings with a thorough understanding of the complex specialist clinical indications.
- To ensure the provision of a professional, high quality, effective, flexible and efficient Imaging Service that is responsive to the needs of the patient.
