An excellent opportunity has arisen for Band 5 and Band 6 Biomedical Scientists to join a busy and well-equipped Microbiology laboratory in London. This locum role is ideal for professionals looking to expand their experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidates will contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic microbiology services, supporting timely and accurate patient care.
What will your responsibilities be :
The role involves processing a wide range of microbiological specimens, including culture, identification, and sensitivity testing. Duties include operating automated systems, performing manual techniques, maintaining quality control, and ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols. The post holders will work closely with clinical and laboratory teams to ensure efficient workflow and accurate reporting.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
- BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or equivalent
- Relevant experience in diagnostic microbiology
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and automated platforms
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to clinical governance and continuous professional development
