The Pharmacy team at Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Band 6 Pharmacy Technician to join our team in London. This is a temporary position for 3 months, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services for inpatients, ensuring adherence to Trust and National standards. You will complete medicines reconciliation promptly to meet NICE guidelines and highlight any discrepancies to the ward pharmacist. You will offer expert advice to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on medication-related issues to achieve optimal patient outcomes. You will provide pharmaceutical training, supervision, and support to colleagues.
You will assess patients’ own drugs (POD) for re-use. You will adapt to different ward specialities as required.
- Experience/Knowledge:
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Hospital experience is essential.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
