About the role:
The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7/8a Specialist Oncology Pharmacist to join our dynamic team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading healthcare environment, providing specialized oncology pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
You will ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions, adhering to clinical guidelines and protocols. You will deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to cancer wards, including medication therapy management, patient counselling, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. You will oversee the aseptic preparation of chemotherapy and other oncology-related medications, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will monitor and manage potential drug interactions, side effects, and adverse reactions, providing expert advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
You will provide training and support to pharmacy staff, healthcare professionals, and patients on oncology medications and treatment protocols. You will participate in clinical trials and research projects related to oncology pharmacy, contributing to the advancement of cancer treatment. You will assist in the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures related to oncology services.
Requirements
- Experience/Knowledge:
- Up to date GPhC registration.
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or Oncology Pharmacy is preferred.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in verifying oncology (SACT) prescriptions.
- Experience in delivering clinical pharmacy services to cancer wards.
- Proven experience in oncology/aseptic.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
