Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab Radiographer – Band 7

Due to service expansion, Cardiac Imaging at Bart’s Heart and Thorax Centre (BHTC) are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab Radiographer who is looking for the opportunity to join a friendly, hard‑working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Radiographers within the largest Cardiovascular Centre in Europe.

The department boasts a wealth of state‑of‑the‑art equipment, with eleven Cardiac Catheter Labs and endovascular theatre, three dedicated Cardiac MRI scanners and a dedicated photon counting Cardiac CT scanner. We are networking and expanding our services across the Trust.

Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab experience and knowledge is essential for this post. The job role is based within Cardiac Catheter Labs where you will cover cases in complex coronary intervention, structural heart intervention, electrophysiology and pacing, as well as cases in the cardiothoracic theatre, with the potential for progression to Cardiac CT and Cardiac CMR.

Person Specification Essential Qualifications
  • BSc or Diploma in Radiography
  • HCPC State Registration
Desirable Qualifications
  • Post‑graduate specialist training equivalent to Master’s level
Essential Experience
  • Demonstrable evidence of expert cardiac cath lab radiographic experience
  • Evidence of advanced knowledge in cardiac Cath Lab imaging/procedure
  • Experience of working with junior staff and students
Desirable Experience
  • Experience in perusing innovation and role development in cardiac cath lab radiography
  • Experience in more than one hospital
  • Evidence of experience of first line management
Essential Knowledge
  • Portfolio of evidence of advanced professional development/training and education for cardiac cath lab radiography (including post‑graduate specialist training equivalent to Master’s level)
  • Evidence that knowledge of cardiac cath lab imaging techniques is up to date
  • Evidence of the ability to critically analyse cardiac radiography practice and role development/training potential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in a range of Cardiac Cath Lab imaging techniques and innovations
