As a Pharmacy Technician you will work across two member practices within a primary care network, supporting the Clinical Pharmacist and the primary care team to ensure safe and accurate supply of medication to patients. Your work will contribute to clinical management and capacity building within the workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to organisational policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Maintain professional standards and meet agreed objectives.
- Participate in mandatory training, performance appraisal and staff development.
- Ensure professional indemnity and authorisation for prescribing record changes.
- Provide technical and administrative support to Clinical Pharmacists.
- Support medication queries from patients and staff (face‑to‑face and telephone).
- Process repeat medication requests, convert acute requests, sync medications, arrange compliance aids.
- Issue prescriptions in line with clinical protocols and competency.
- Provide medication review services via clinics, domiciliary visits, residential and nursing homes.
- Maintain accurate medication records on the clinical computer system.
- Assist in medication reconciliation following discharge, clinic visits and other transfers of care.
- Engage with secondary, community and primary care colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist the Clinical Pharmacist with data analysis, medicines audits and prescribing target achievement.
- Attend relevant meetings and support prescribing initiatives.
