Location: Hybrid Remote and London
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hour week – Flexible Monday to Saturday, 9.00 – 5.30 (time can also be flexible upon request)
Contract: Permanent – 52 weeks

Aboutthe role
The Autism Assessor will conduct thorough diagnostic assessments for children and young people aged 0–18 years, including “right to choose” referrals via GPs, NHS contracted work and private clients. Responsibilities include administering evidence‑based assessment tools such as the ADOS‑2, ADI‑R and other validated instruments to make clinical diagnostic decisions based on DSM‑5 and ICD‑11 criteria, while considering varied presentations such as gender differences.
Keyresponsibilities
- Administer evidence‑based assessment tools (e.g., ADOS‑2, ADI‑R) and produce high‑quality formal clinical reports outlining neurodevelopmental strengths and needs profiles with individual recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with children, families and clinical colleagues to ensure multidisciplinary agreement on diagnostic outcomes.
- Sustain accurate and up‑to‑date records, triage new referrals, and attend relevant meetings to uphold clinical practice guidelines.
- Support on‑line and face‑to‑face assessment when required.
- Contribute to the delivery of evidence‑based interventions and follow‑up plans.
- Active HCPC, NMC, GMC or relevant professional body registration.
- Certification in ADOS‑2 and/or ADI‑R (or equivalent).
- Proficiency in DSM‑5 and related diagnostic tools for Autism and/or ADHD (ADHD proficiency not essential).
- Experience conducting neurodevelopmental assessments focusing on Autism and/or ADHD (ADHD proficiency not essential).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to prepare comprehensive reports using neuro‑affirming language.
- Experience in reviewing and triaging clinical information to make allocation decisions for assessments.
- Familiarity with online assessment and face‑to‑face assessment as an advantage.
- Desirable experience with Young DIVA assessments and ADHD developmental history interviews.
