Advanced Clinical Pharmacist and Clinical Educator
Join NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist and Clinical Educator
. This role is based at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and combines advanced clinical pharmacy practice with a strong focus on undergraduate education and training.
You will work within a large, multi‑site pharmacy department and contribute to both teaching and clinical service delivery, supporting the University of Liverpool in the MPharm programme and delivering advanced care to patients in Acute Admissions and the Emergency Department.
- Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of hospital experiential learning (simulation and placements) for undergraduate pharmacy students across all four years of the MPharm programme.
- Collaborate with the University of Liverpool Pharmacy Teaching Team to develop curriculum, teach, and assess clinical pharmacy skills in line with the GPhC Standards for the Initial Education and Training of Pharmacists.
- Coordinate and quality‑assure hospital placements, embed Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) and support placement supervisors through training and guidance.
- Deliver an advanced clinical pharmacy service to patients in Acute Admissions and the Emergency Department, including medicines reconciliation, independent prescribing, medicines optimisation and therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Provide non‑medical prescribing services and support the Lead Clinical Pharmacist Education and Training with clinical/medicines management training.
- Support the education and training of pharmacy undergraduates, trainee pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical audit, guideline implementation and service development initiatives.
- Engage in continuing professional development and contribute to the strategic development of pharmacy education and clinical services.
