Sonic Healthcare UK encompasses The Doctors Laboratory (TDL) and Health Services Laboratories (HSL). About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Bank BMS
. Our laboratory operates a 24/7 service
, and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in all shift patterns as allocated by the Pathology Lead to meet the service requirements. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering a professional and technical laboratory service, working effectively as part of a team while also performing routine analyses independently, with support from the Pathology Lead as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Haematology, Coagulation, Biochemistry, Immunoassay, and Blood Transfusion tests accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor quality control programs and assist with stock management.
- Maintain turnaround times (TAT), morphology, and cross-matching.
- Handle NHSBT referrals and provide component support for Major Haemorrhages.
