London Children’s Practice – Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Location: Regional Role, London – Central and Greater London
Salary: Up to £55,000 FTE, dependent on experience – plus a welcome bonus of £2000 (£1000 after successful completion of 3 months and £1000 after successful completion of probation)
Hours: 37.5 hour week – Flexible working across 6 days (Monday‑Saturday)
Contract: Permanent – Summer contract – 50 weeks (5 weeks off in summer break, + 22 days holiday)
About the roleWe are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our expanding multi‑disciplinary team and work primarily in school settings, with potential for clinic and remote‑based work. You will play a vital role in unlocking students' potential by assessing needs for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and providing specialised interventions. This is achieved by working collaboratively with parents, carers, multidisciplinary and teaching teams across various school and clinical settings to ensure interventions are effectively integrated into the young person's daily life.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of a child or young person's developmental or learning needs for EHCPs.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans and collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to integrate goals into the child’s daily environment.
- Evaluate intervention effectiveness, provide training and upskilling to key adults, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings to coordinate care for children and young people with complex needs.
- HCPC and RCOT registration
- Recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational therapy
- Paediatric occupational therapy experience
- Experience working within a specialist paediatric setting
- Experience in school settings and completing assessments for EHCPs
- Specialist CPD and/or training
- Trauma‑Informed care experience
- Experience working with paediatric social, emotional, and mental health needs
