Food Safety Officer – Contract (6 Months)

Location: London (Hybrid / Site-based)

Rate: Circa £50 per hour (Inside IR35)

Contract Length: 6 months

A London Local Authority is looking to appoint an experienced Food Safety Officer on a 6-month contract to support the Environmental Health team with a programme of low to medium risk food hygiene inspections.

• Delivering Category C–E food hygiene inspections
• Working in line with the Food Law Code of Practice
• Completing inspection reports, records, and follow-up actions
• Managing your own caseload and meeting inspection targets
• Supporting backlog reduction and business-as-usual activity

• Registered Environmental Health Practitioner (EHRB / CIEH) or appropriately qualified Food Safety Officer (Higher Certificate in Food Control)
• Up to date CPD and competency matrix
• Recent local authority experience carrying out C–E inspections
• Strong working knowledge of food safety legislation
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Confident using local authority systems and procedures

• £50 per hour (Inside IR35)
• Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension
• Hybrid working (site visits required for inspections)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Food Safety Officer seeking a longer-term London contract at a competitive rate.
