Senior Economic Development Officer Sectors & Clusters
Location:
Hybrid 12 days in the office, with local community engagement Rate:
Circa £30 per hour PAYE / £38 per hour Umbrella
Contract:
Interim Assignment An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Economic Development Officer to help shape and deliver key sector and cluster growth initiatives within a forward-thinking local authority. Youll play a pivotal role in driving the next phase of a borough-wide economic development strategy, designed to foster innovation, support creative enterprise, and promote inclusive growth for local communities. This dynamic position sits within the Economic Development & Growth team and supports the Strategic Lead Sectors & Clusters in coordinating vital programmes and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities Lead on delivery of key sector interventions and projects within the boroughs Cultural and Economic Growth strategies. Coordinate activity for the Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ) , supporting creative businesses, workspace operators, and industry partners. Oversee elements of affordable workspace delivery , including working with Planning teams on Section 106 contributions. Manage grant programmes, monitor budgets, and engage with stakeholders across regeneration, planning, and local enterprise.
Strengthen partnerships across the public, private, and community sectors to nurture growth in the boroughs creative and innovation clusters. Monitor performance frameworks, evaluate outcomes, and report on strategic initiatives to senior officers and partners. Ensure alignment between local policy, planning, and delivery to meet the needs of the creative economy and borough-wide growth objectives. About You Were seeking a proactive professional with a passion for economic regeneration and creative enterprise.
The ideal candidate will bring: A strong understanding of Londons creative industries and the challenges they face. Experience in economic development , affordable workspace delivery , or sector-focused policy implementation . Proven ability to develop partnerships and coordinate complex stakeholder networks. Excellent written and analytical skills, with confidence managing budgets and external funding streams. Knowledge of planning and Section 106 agreements is advantageous.
Working Arrangements
