Passionate about tackling fly-tipping? We’re looking for a Deputy Communications and Engagement Manager to lead our fly-tipping and waste campaigns. You’ll help us communicate and engage with residents and other stakeholders to deliver a high-profile campaign to tackle the scourge of fly-tipping. This will include naming and shaming offenders as well using behaviour change science to make it as easy as possible for people to do the right thing.
You’ll need to write engaging content for a range of publications, channels and audiences, as well as managing the Council’s reputation through the press and social media. You’ll be confident creating and editing your own video content, working to deadlines and building trust with colleagues and political members.
Based in Woolwich, a short walk from the new Elizabeth line station, with some working from our Birchmere Centre too, the role will comprise a mix of office and some home working.
Responsibilities- Lead fly-tipping and waste campaigns with clear objectives that are regularly evaluated.
- Develop and implement creative and innovative targeted campaigns using behaviour change principles.
- Write engaging content for publications, channels and audiences; manage external agencies.
- Manage the Council’s reputation through press and social media; oversee video content creation and editing.
- Work to deadlines and build trust with colleagues and political members.
- Collaborate with residents and stakeholders to deliver high-profile campaigns.
- Excellent writing and planning skills.
- Experience leading behaviour change campaigns and managing external agencies.
- Experience creating and editing video content.
- Ability to work to deadlines and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
