I am currently recruiting a Social Housing Assessment and Lettings Officer to join a housing needs service within the public sector and government
, based in a North London (
Hybrid
).

This is a great opportunity for a housing professional to play a key role in allocations, assessments, and lettings within the indx public sector and government
, supporting fair access to social housing across a Confidential Location (Hybrid).

As a Social Housing Assessment and Lettings Officer
, you will be responsible for assessingрама housing register applications, applying legislation and allocation policy, and supporting the effective operation of a choice‑based lettings system. Working in the public sector and government
, you will manage a varied cas trakt, engage with vulnerable applicants, and contribute to best use of housing stock within a Confidential Location (Hybrid).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and investigate housing register applications in line with housing legislation and policy
  • Determine eligibility란, priority, and bandingفه issuing clear and legally compliant decision letters
  • Support the management and administration of a choice‑based lettings system, including advertising and shortlisting
  • Make nominations and allocations to social housing to minimise voids and support efficient stock use
  • Carry out verifications, interviews, and home visits as required
  • Work closely with housing management teams on transfers, successions, and mutual exchanges
  • Respond to customer enquiries, complaints, and correspondence professionally and accurately
  • Maintain accurate case records across housing IT systems and contribute to performance reporting
About You
  • Experience in housing assessments, allocations, lettings, or housing needs services
  • Strong working knowledge of housing legislation and allocations policy
  • Confident communicating with customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a pressurised environment
  • Strong IT skills and attention to detail
