Public Health & Noise and Nuisance Officer

Join Barnet Council as a Public Health & Noise and Nuisance Officer. This permanent place‑based role will be based at the Council offices in Colindale or other borough locations.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to and investigate service requests, primarily around noise and nuisance, while addressing other environmental concerns.
  • Advise, assist and enforce legal standards under key legislation such as the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Control of Pollution Act 1974.
  • Conduct site visits, gather evidence and prepare legal notices to uphold community safety.
  • Participate in the out‑of‑hours service on a rota basis (with additional pay).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proactive professional committed to delivering high‑quality services.
  • Strong investigative and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet published service standards.
