Company Overview

Halliday Marx have partnered with an outstanding media business to hire a Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including invoicing, reconciliations, and query resolution.
  • Act as the primary finance point of contact for internal stakeholders and external suppliers/customers.
  • Supervise and support the Accounts Assistant, including training, task delegation, and workflow management.
  • Review and approve event settlements, payments, and transactional postings.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations and manage bank feeds.
  • Oversee weekly payment runs, payroll processing, and cashflow forecasting.
  • Manage corporate prepaid card systems and ensure accurate reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate customer and supplier master data.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review transactional bookkeeping for accuracy and completeness.
  • Calculate and submit VAT and CIS returns.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and corporate credit cards.
  • Oversee stock reconciliations and operational finance reporting.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support year‑end close.
  • Assist with corporation tax queries and statutory reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in management accounting and operational finance.
  • Solid working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting systems.
  • Experience managing AP, AR, payroll, cashflow, and reconciliations.
  • Confident communicator with ability to liaise across departments.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff.
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (AAT / ACCA / CIMA / ACA) preferred but not essential, depending on experience.
