The Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial management of a designated real estate portfolio. This includes maintaining accurate accounting records, managing service charge funds, and providing high-level financial reporting to stakeholders and property managers.

• Management Accounts:
  Preparing quarterly client statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Service Charge Management:
  Overseeing service charge budgets, performing year-end reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with RICS guidelines.
• Tenant Accounting:
  Raising rent and service charge demands, managing tenant queries, and overseeing credit control for a portfolio.
• Audit Support:
  Liaising with external auditors for year-end service charge and statutory account reviews.

• Industry Knowledge:
  Familiarity with commercial / residential real estate-specific accounting standards such as IFRS 16 (Leases) and UK property regulations.
• Specialised Software:
  Experience with property management systems like Qube (Horizon), Re-Leased, Yardi, MRI, or TRAMPS is highly desirable.
• Communication:
  Ability to explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders, such as property managers and surveyors.
