About the roleWe are seeking a Credit Controller.
This role reports into the Head of Accounting.
We offer hybrid working, with three days in our office near St. Paul’s, Central London, or full-time office-based work if preferred.
Job SummaryThe Credit Controller is responsible for managing the company’s credit policies, monitoring customer accounts, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. This role plays a critical part in maintaining healthy cash flow, minimizing bad debt risk, and supporting overall financial stability.
Key responsibilities- Client creation and maintenance in Dynamics 365 (D365).
- Manage and monitor customer credit accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
- Conduct credit checks on new and existing customers and assess creditworthiness.
- Set up and maintain credit limits in line with company policy.
- Follow up on overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Negotiate repayment plans where necessary while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Prepare and distribute aged debtor reports to management.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
- Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate actions (e.g., credit hold, legal proceedings).
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to resolve disputes and improve collection processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and relevant regulations.
- Support and contribute to building new processes within the credit control function.

- Evidence of further professional or academic education
- 3+ years’ experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections.
- Experience with D365 or SAP systems.
- Strong understanding of credit risk management and cash flow principles.
- Experience with intercompany (Interco) transactions, accounting, and treatment (useful but not essential).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- French language ability useful but not required.
