International Compliance - Surveillance Analyst London

Tradeweb is a global leader in electronic trading for rates, credit, equities, and money markets. As financial markets become increasingly interconnected, our technology enables efficient, multi-asset trading on a global scale. We serve more than 3,000 clients in more than 85 countries, including many of the world’s largest banks, asset managers, hedge funds, insurers, corporations, and wealth managers.

Tradeweb Markets LLC ("Tradeweb") is proud to be an EEO Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled/Affirmative Action Employer.

Mission:
Move first and never stop. Collaborate with clients to create and build solutions that drive efficiency, connectivity, and transparency in electronic trading.

This position sits at the heart of Tradeweb’s ambition to advance its global surveillance capability and prepare the function for the future. While the role will support selected core activities such as alert review and quality assurance, its primary focus is on shaping and elevating the broader surveillance framework. The successful candidate will work closely with the Global Head of Surveillance and partners across Compliance, Technology, Risk, and the business to deliver a programme of enhancements that strengthens the firm’s control environment and supports long‑term scalability.

You will take a leading role in designing and refining alert models, enhancing data quality and analytics, developing advanced dashboards, and embedding data‑driven methodologies that support effective monitoring across multiple asset classes. A key part of the remit involves modernising processes, automating workflows, and preparing datasets and control mechanisms for AI‑driven techniques, together with guiding the integration of new business initiatives into the surveillance framework.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly capable individual to influence and drive the evolution of Tradeweb’s surveillance programme. The role offers significant scope to innovate, address complex analytical challenges, and contribute to the architecture of a surveillance function designed for future needs. Working in partnership with senior stakeholders, you will help establish the standards, tools, and strategic direction that ensure Tradeweb continues to meet regulatory expectations while supporting the expansion of its global platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the review and analysis of daily surveillance alerts to ensure timely escalation and effective case management.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of closed alerts handled by other Surveillance Officers to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Lead the integration of new business initiatives into the surveillance framework, ensuring monitoring coverage and alignment with control requirements.
  • Lead the design and optimisation of alert scenarios, including parameter setting, tuning, and back‑testing to ensure effective surveillance coverage.
  • Refine and enhance alert logic to reduce false positives while maintaining high detection sensitivity and coverage.
  • Use Python (Num Py, Pandas, Matplotlib) together with statistical techniques to support data analysis, modelling, and alert calibration.
  • Design and build expert‑level Tableau visualisations and interactive dashboards to monitor alert activity, calibration outcomes, control performance, and provide real‑time MI and board reporting.
  • Work with data engineers and quants to prepare and optimise large datasets for AI applications, driving data and process automation and supporting the integration of AI capabilities.
  • Support development and implementation of AI‑driven models to enhance trade surveillance and detect potential market abuse.
Required skills:

Product and Market Knowledge
  • Extensive Fixed Income experience with strong knowledge of products including bonds, repos, credit derivatives, interest rate swaps, and related instruments.
  • Excellent understanding of Fixed Income pricing, market structure, liquidity dynamics, and execution workflows.
  • Interest in digital assets and blockchain, with the ability to understand emerging trading models and future surveillance implications.
