Tax Manager

Fortnum & Mason is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead our UK and international tax operations. Based in our iconic Piccadilly flagship store in our head office on the 5th and 6th floors, you’ll work in the heart of central London, surrounded by world‑class restaurants, culture and shopping, and only moments from Green Park station.

• Lead tax reporting and compliance across UK and international markets
• Maintain and review the tax risk register
  , focusing on high‑risk areas
• Manage the tax reporting calendar and ensure timely submissions
• Oversee VAT, GST and sales tax reporting
• Deliver internal guidance and training across direct and indirect taxes
• Support corporate tax compliance, including capital and R&D allowances
• Partner with external tax advisors to address both historic and emerging risks

• 5–7 years’ experience in tax management or tax accounting
• Strong VAT technical knowledge and analytical skills
• Confidence applying judgement and managing risk
• High-level Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
• Experience working with HMRC and external tax advisors
• Recognised qualification (CTA, ATT, AAT, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
• A passion for technology, innovation and continuous improvement
• International indirect tax experience
• Understanding of food/mixed-supply VAT
• ERP experience (ideally MS Dynamics)
• Knowledge of Avalara/Vertex
