We are supporting an established financial services looking to add to their in‑house tax team.
This role will support the group’s UK corporate tax compliance cycle, assist with VAT obligations, and contribute to a range of tax advisory and business projects. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience in a commercial environment while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:Corporate Tax Compliance
- Prepare and assist with the submission of UK corporation tax returns and supporting computations.
- Manage data collection and prepare tax adjustments for year‑end and quarterly reporting.
- Support the preparation of tax provisions for statutory accounts, liaising with internal finance teams and external auditors.
- Monitor compliance timelines to ensure all corporate tax deadlines are met.
- Support the preparation, review, and submission of UK VAT returns and related filings.
- Assist with indirect tax queries and ensure adherence to HMRC requirements.
- Help develop and maintain internal controls and processes for VAT compliance.
- Assist senior tax team members on tax advisory matters, including group restructurings, R&D claims, transfer pricing, capital allowances, and other business initiatives.
- Conduct initial research on technical tax issues and draft briefing notes.
- Support tax aspects of business projects, acquisitions, process improvements, and system changes.
- Liaise with external tax advisors as required.
- CTA, ACA, ACCA (part‑qualified or qualified) or equivalent tax/finance qualification.
- Previous experience in corporate tax (practice or in‑house).
- Strong knowledge of UK corporation tax; experience with VAT desirable.
- Ability to interpret legislation and guidance and apply it to real‑world scenarios.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Strong analytical abilities, good attention to detail, and capable of working independently.
- Proficient with tax compliance software and Microsoft Excel.
