Job SummaryAs the Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) International Counter party Risk Team Lead, you will lead and manage the counter party risk functions within Asset Management (AM) and Wealth Management (WM) Counter party Risk, as well as WM Counter party Credit Risk. Your expertise in Firmwide, Wholesale Credit, and AWM counter party risk management frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements will be crucial as you contribute to the development of AWM Counter party Risk organizational strategy.
You will foster collaboration across counter party risk team members and serve a key function in overseeing compliance with wholesale policy and any AWM-specific framework documentation standards and guidelines.
- Lead and manage team responsible for AM and WM Counter party Risk, overseeing compliance with end-to-end counter party governance frameworks, with a focus on international clients, counter parties and business areas.
- Drive the consolidation and alignment of AWM Counter party risk functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Wholesale Credit and AM/WM Investment Risk teams to ensure comprehensive and consistent risk management practices.
- Oversee counter party risk exposure trends, thresholds / limit frameworks, and policies / guidelines / procedures applicable to AWM clients and counter parties.
- Lead strategic counter party initiatives, driving the technology agenda for infrastructural change and exposure connectivity across business and risk systems.
- Provide credit risk oversight during the negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support documentation, and other legal contracts with counter parties by collaborating closely with legal and business teams to ensure that counter party and credit risk considerations are accurately and comprehensively reflected in contractual terms.
- Present counter party risk topics, framework updates, strategies, and methodologies in risk committees and forums, engaging with senior stakeholders across Asset Management and Wealth Management to communicate risk exposures, mitigation strategies, and provide credible 2nd Line of Defense challenge.
- Engage on new business initiatives by providing guidance on counter party risk requirements and participating in due diligence meetings for client accounts.
- Support control agendas across AWM internal and external audits and control reviews.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory capital and stress testing requirements, framework development and ownership determination, provide inputs for firmwide submissions, and ensure compliance with developing Asset Management regulatory requirements for Funds, Investment Advisors, and all other Fiduciary roles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Extensive experience in counter party risk management within financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of financial trading activities and associated risks.
- Familiarity with counter party risk frameworks and regulatory compliance.
- Experience negotiating legal documentation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
