Role overviewCFGI seeks a highly motivated tax manager to join its UK tax team. This role offers an opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual who challenges the status quo around the UK tax services industry. You will be involved in all aspects of UK corporate tax (reporting, compliance, governance and advisory) and will have direct interaction with clients and senior members of the UK tax team to deliver services.
Responsibilities- Client service delivery
- Tax reporting: involvement in UK tax reporting services for a diverse client base including:
UK publicly listed companies; US-headquartered multinationals (including US-listed groups); UK privately owned and private equity backed groups.
- The exact scope of tax reporting work may include:
- Preparation of UK entity-only tax numbers in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP.
- Preparation of UK group tax numbers, including incorporation of tax numbers for non-UK subsidiaries, GAAP-to-GAAP adjustments (e.g., US GAAP to IFRS) and consolidation adjustments.
- Advising on client’s tax reporting processes.
- Advising on tax aspects of GAAP conversion projects.
- Advising on the tax reporting (and other) aspects of IPO readiness.
- Knowledge:
Experience of UK tax reporting processes; knowledge of tax reporting IFRS and UK GAAP; high-level understanding of US GAAP desirable but not essential; experience of UK tax return preparation and technical understanding of capital allowances, incentives, interest deductibility, hybrid mismatches, and loss utilisation; experience responding to HMRC enquiries; cross-border tax matters (desirable).
- Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax software (e.g., One Source); ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from clients and team members; excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; strong analytical, supervisory, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; integrity, accountability, flexibility, willingness to be coached, and ability to develop professional relationships; cross-service line collaboration experience is important.
- Qualifications:
Three to five years of corporate tax experience (Big 4 preferred); professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) required; additional tax qualification (e.g., CTA) strongly desired.
