Group Finance Director

Salary Guide: c. £200,000 + Bonus + Benefits

This is a defining leadership role within one of the UK’s most significant energy producers. At a time when the energy sector is undergoing a fundamental shift toward decarbonisation and security of supply, we are seeking a Group Finance Director to act as a strategic co-pilot to the CEO. You will be responsible for the financial integrity and strategic direction of a multi-billion-pound portfolio that spans essential flexible generation, emerging renewable technologies, and large-scale energy storage solutions.

The Group Finance Director will lead a large finance function of 45, overseeing the complex capital structures required to maintain a diverse asset base while funding the transition to a Net Zero future. This position goes far beyond traditional fiscal oversight; it requires a leader who can navigate the intricacies of energy trading impacts, manage large-scale capital expenditure for infrastructure projects, and maintain rigorous governance across international operations.

You will serve as the primary bridge between operational performance and shareholder value, ensuring that every strategic investment is backed by robust modelling and a clear path to sustainable growth.

The successful candidate is likely to either be a seasoned executive with an extensive background in capital-intensive industries such as energy, utilities, or heavy infrastructure, or you could be stepping up into the role provided you are able to demonstrate the qualities required. Candidates from different industries will also be considered providing they can show a passion for the sector. We are looking for a first-class qualified accountant with a high degree of commercial acumen and the ability to lead a lean, high-performing team in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
