We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Treasury Risk Manager, Recovery and Resolution Planning.
This is a crucial second line of defence role, responsible for providing effective risk oversight and challenge across the organization's finance function. This is a highly visible and critical role within HBUK and HGHQ, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the risk management practices and contribute to the long-term success of HSBC.

Responsibilities- Monitor and ensure compliance at HBUK with relevant group, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP), stress testing and financial planning
- Oversee the development and maintenance of HBUK’s RRP, as necessary coordinating with Treasury and non-Treasury Risk Stewards
- Review and challenge the capital, liquidity and treasury risk elements of HBUK regulatory submissions in relation to RRP
- Provide oversight and challenge to fire drill and stress simulation exercises aimed at testing the effectiveness of the RRP, as well as oversight of the end-to-end stress testing process and coordinate 2
LoD stress testing activity - Review and challenge the stress testing core processes that are within Treasury Risk Management’s remit – including the appropriateness and impact analysis under stress of Strategic Management Actions
- Provide risk oversight to the HBUK Financial Resource Planning (FRP) process, ensuring that the organisation's asset allocation strategies are aligned with its risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and broader financial objectives
- Experience in financial risk management in HSBC or a comparably large bank or financial institution. Candidates with experience in both centralised Treasury functions and finance units embedded within lines of business are desired
- Deep understanding of at least one of capital or liquidity risk management principles, frameworks, and methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative risk assessment techniques, whether from first or second-line perspective
- A good understanding of all Treasury risks and their relevance to stress testing, RRP and financial planning
- Sufficient proficiency in financial modelling, stress testing and risk analytics to be able to effectively challenge the FRP output.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate risk insights and recommendations to senior management and executive-level audiences.
