The firm are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager to take a leadership role, overseeing a client portfolio, mentoring junior staff, and driving the firm's continued success. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual from a small practice background, who enjoys working closely with clients and developing junior team members. As Senior Manager key responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:
Client Management – Manage a portfolio of 350 clients, covering Accounts, VAT clients, and Private Tax clients, including some of the firm’s largest businesses with turnovers up to £30m Accounts & Tax Compliance – Prepare and review financial statements, VAT returns, tax returns, and tax planning strategies, including applications for R&D, Film, and Animation Tax Credits. Leadership & Training – Manage, train, and review the work of a team of portfolio assistants, trainee accountants, and bookkeepers.

Financial Oversight – Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, assist with client billing, debt collection, and ensure recovery rates are maintained. Audit & Compliance – Lead limited audits and group accounts reviews, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Client Relations & Liaison – Handle client queries, manage system setups, coordinate with HMRC, lenders, and Companies House. Process Improvement – Support business development, recruitment, and performance appraisals.

Key skills:
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a strong small-practice background. Experience managing a varied client portfolio, including high-growth businesses. A natural leader with strong mentoring and team management skills. Confident in handling complex tax affairs, compliance, and audit responsibilities.
