The International Equity Middle Office team support the Equity Sales and Trading department, encompassing the Firm’s market side executions within EMEA and all Cash Equity client activity trading globally covered by European Sales desks. Trade flows include Cash Equity, ETF, DMA / Algo, Program and Equity Capital Markets. The team is split into Client Services and Trade Support functions.
This is a permanent role providing Middle Office support to the Cash Equity, ETF & Equity DMA/Program trading desks.
Key Responsibilities- Daily monitoring and resolution of front to back reconciliations, including Wash book, Trading book, FX, Trading to books & records (‘FOBO’) break investigation and resolution.
- Ensure all client trades are allocated by the end of each day, focusing on the identification and resolution of exceptions.
- Ensure trade confirmations are sent to all clients once trades have been allocated.
- Proactive communication with clients and Sales teams to ensure exceptions are resolved in a timely manner.
- Ensure all potential issues are escalated to management on a timely basis. Escalation remains a priority at all times.
- Manage high volume of client queries (internal & external).
- Continual focus on process re-engineering. Requirement to review and question the validity of processes and functions within the team to ascertain whether processes should be automated in current form, or re-engineered. Question whether old processes are still required.
- Build and maintain relationships with the Firm’s clients, Equity Trading desks, Technology and Operations teams.
- Commitment to continual self-development of technical skill set.
- Proven experience working within an Equity Middle Office environment, with exposure to various Equity Desks, including but not limited to Cash Equity, ETF, Equity DMA and Equity Program Trading.
- Proficiency with Fidessa, GCTAC, CTM, Traiana/Harmony, Fix and Swift Allocation is an advantage.
- Strong working understanding of post trade ETF mechanics, including depot realignments is an advantage.
- The role will involve meticulous attention to detail and working within tight deadlines. Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks is essential.
- A flexible, hard-working, “can-do” approach is essential to making a success of the role.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential.
- Proven ability to understand, investigate and resolve issues is essential.
