Financial Accountant

A well-known Japanese gaming company is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to work in their Windsor office. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts that reflect the financial position of the business, ensuring SOX compliance, and supporting various finance-related tasks. The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background with experience in SAP FI/CO and advanced MS Excel.

Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese skill is advantageous.

LOCATION:

Windsor (Hybrid work available)

• Maintain accurate accounts that reflect the financial position of the business
• Preparation and execution of month-end accounting
• Support key processes and collaborate with other Finance functions
• Ensure valuation of inventory is reflective of the net realizable value
• Engage with Management on stock levels to drive sales
• Reconciliation of goods-in-transit accounts
• Reconciliation of departmental and centralized HQ incurred costs
• Revenue accounting for marketing support fee income
• Accurate recording of fixed assets and depreciation in line with company policy
• Create and maintain budget templates for Sales/Expenses/Cap Ex
• Calculation of the developer royalty statement
• Support during interim and year-end audits
• Maintain lease schedules in line with IFRS 16 for ROU assets
• Accurate posting and reconciliation of salary and wage tax accounts
• Support the tax manager with tax-related tasks
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Support to Head of Finance and other members on projects and other ad-hoc tasks
• Support Head of Finance with creation of the annual Financial Statements

• At least 2 years of experience in European Finance organization and SOX environment
• Strong accounting background
• SAP FI/CO experience
• Advanced MS Excel
• Highly numerate, analytical and literate
• Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese skill is advantageous.
