The RoleSupport Howden Re in continually improving financial performance and decision‑making through reporting, analysis and planning. The role will work with Finance Directors and Finance Business Partners to report and analyse results across all offices, perform trend analysis across Howden Re, and support and review budgets, forecasts and actuals.
What you’ll do:- Provide high‑quality and timely advice, information, analysis, reporting and interpretation to support effective decision making and performance management.
- Develop an understanding of the business and support reporting to each team.
- Understand the drivers of business performance, identify trends, areas of opportunity or remedial action and influence the implementation of initiatives to address these.
- Analyse finance packs.
- Perform trend analysis of performance.
- Conduct detailed reviews of highlighted areas depending on the needs of the business.
- Support the improvement of management reporting and analysis.
- Support the maintenance of team structures and systems.
- Help maintain and improve financial reporting IT systems.
- Understand current business processes and assist in developing systems and procedures to ensure strong financial controls are run across relevant business units within Howden UK.
- Support senior managers to deliver group objectives.
- Develop strong working relationships with the wider Finance team and key contacts in Howden Re.
- Base understanding of finance and finance functions.
- Commercial analysis and knowledge of management accounting.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ambitious and self‑motivated.
- Ability to react positively to change.
- Ability to think laterally and solve problems using own initiative and challenge the status‑quo where necessary.
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified.
