- Manage sales ledgers and purchase ledgers using XERO software, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions across multiple currencies including USD, GBP, and EUR.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with corporation tax submissions by maintaining up-to-date records and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance.
- Support cash flow management by monitoring inflows and outflows, helping to maintain healthy liquidity levels for ongoing business operations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering relevant data, preparing reports, and contributing insights to help shape financial planning.
- Process receipts efficiently using DEX software while maintaining meticulous documentation for audit purposes.
- Reconcile accounts regularly to identify discrepancies, resolve issues promptly, and uphold the integrity of financial information.
- Collaborate with colleagues on timesheet management to ensure accurate payroll processing and cost allocation across departments.
- Contribute to month-end closing procedures by preparing schedules, supporting reconciliations, and assisting with reporting requirements.
- Participate in training sessions provided by the company to enhance skills in areas such as foreign currency transactions, software usage, and advanced finance topics.
- Engage proactively with the finance team during meetings with senior staff members as part of the interview process and ongoing collaboration.
- Demonstrated proficiency in XERO accounting software with at least one year of hands-on experience managing ledgers or similar financial tasks.
- Solid understanding of sales ledger and purchase ledger processes including reconciliation techniques across currencies such as USD, GBP, and EUR.
- Experience preparing VAT returns or supporting corporation tax submissions within a UK-based organisation.
- Familiarity with DEX or similar receipt management software is highly desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Proven ability to assist with cash flow management by tracking payments, expenses, and forecasting future needs.
- Exposure to budgeting processes or financial forecasting activities within a commercial setting is advantageous.
- Competence in timesheet administration or payroll support functions would be beneficial for cross-departmental collaboration.
- AAT Level 3 qualification or above is required; candidates working towards ACCA or CIMA are warmly welcomed as further study support is offered.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling collaboration within a close-knit finance team and clear communication with other departments.
- Immediate availability is preferred to begin contributing quickly.
