Transactional Finance Manager

ASAP Start - 2 to 3 months, could be longer.

London (2 days a week in the office ideally)

We are supporting a fast-paced, growing business looking for an interim Transactional Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance operations engine room.

This is a hands-on role covering AP, AR, expenses, cash, controls and reporting. You will bring structure, pace and discipline to the day-to-day finance function, while also improving processes and tightening up working capital.

Ideal for someone who enjoys getting stuck in and leaving things better than they found them.

What you’ll be doing

Transactional Finance Ownership

• Running end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Managing employee expenses and corporate card processes
• Owning cash application and timely bank reconciliations
• Handling supplier and customer queries and resolving issues quickly
• Identifying risks across AP/AR and putting mitigations in place

Controls, Compliance and Audit Support

• Ensuring processes are documented, controlled and operating effectively
• Supporting audit readiness through clean reconciliations and evidence
• Proactively addressing fraud, compliance and control gaps

Reporting and Working Capital Focus

• Producing weekly AP and AR reporting with clear commentary
• Monitoring overdue trends, DSO and DPO performance
• Supporting short-term cashflow forecasting with senior finance

Systems and Data Accuracy

• Maintaining clean supplier and customer data in the ERP
• Reviewing credit terms and improving working capital where possible
• Ensuring consistency across finance systems and workflows

Process Improvement and Automation

• Driving efficiencies through automation and smarter workflows
• Reducing manual effort and improving accuracy
• Embedding scalable transactional processes for growth

What you’ll need

• Strong experience in transactional finance and finance operations
• Confidence leading AP/AR teams in a busy environment
• Excellent understanding of controls, reconciliations and audit prep
• Strong Excel and ERP experience (Intacct or similar)
