Product Manager – Credit Card | Fintech | Payments

Our client, a fast-growing fintech supporting small businesses, is launching a brand-new credit card offering and is seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead core payment and processing capabilities.

You’ll help build the full credit-card payments engine — authorisation, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, cashback, and ledger interactions. Working closely with engineering, finance, risk, and fraud teams, you’ll shape technical direction, define detailed requirements, and guide the product from concept to launch.

Working within a smaller scale up team, you’ll work to a hybrid model of being on-site a few times a month in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the roadmap for card payment processing and transaction flows
  • Translate scheme and regulatory rules into clear technical specs
  • Document system behaviour, processes, and test cases
  • Ensure Visa/Mastercard requirements are reflected in system design
  • Support architecture decisions and contribute to ledger evolution
  • Card payments, issuing, or processing background
  • Knowledge of EMV, PCI, and Visa/Mastercard scheme rules
  • Ability to map complex transaction flows and write detailed requirements
  • Experience with RESTful services and monitoring tools
  • Strong communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to onboarding, fraud, and disputes
  • Familiarity with ISO 20022 or PSD3
  • Comfortable in early-stage, evolving product environments

The successful Technical Product Manager will earn up to £120,000 and in addition there are exceptional benefits which come as part of the overall package including: 15% bonus, pension, training budget, weekly team lunches, travel loans and numerous soft leisurely benefits.
