At Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking to recruit for the position of a Finance Business Partner to join our staff BANK. · Tosupporttheoperationalandnon-operational managers of anumberspecified service lines in delivering their financial strategy and key financial goals, through the provision of high quality financial management, control and planning services, advice and support. This involves strategic, organisational and operational discussion, analysis and reporting to enable the efficient an effective use of service line resources.

FIP/savingsplansandmonitor the delivery oftheseplans.
· Responsibleforthepreparationandreviewofbusinesscasesensuring that all costs/income/benefits are fully understood and those decision son new initiatives are taken with full knowledge of the financial implications. You will be expected to quickly develop an understanding of the business of healthcare provision, to support and lead on quality decision making through provision of excellent analytical support.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • RESPONSIBILITYFORPOLICY ANDSERVICE DEVELOPMENT
  • To support services in the development of FIP/savings plans, working with service managers, budget holders and clinicians on both income and expendituredevelopment. To maintain monitoring systems to track delivery of the annual

    FIP/savings plan.
  • Along with the Head of Finance, to develop a focus on service line and divisionalprofitabilityandreturnoninvestment,developingshort andmediumtermfinancialandsavings plans alignedwithstrategic plans.
  • To lead on the financial and economic analysis required for business cases,ensuring that thecosts,benefitsandincomeandexpenditureof projectsarefullyunderstoodandclearly disclosedwithinbusinesscases.
  • To carry out post implementation reviews once a business case has beenapprovedandimplementedtoconfirmwhether theproposaldeliveredthebenefitsit promised and to understand any variances between actual results and thoseanticipatedwhenthebusiness casewasapproved.
  • Toassist intheproductionofexternalserviceagreementsandcontractsinlinewithtrust policiesandtosupportthedevelopmentof thenewserviceplans.
  • To analyse and interpret relationships between patient activity data and other keyperformanceindicatorsandthefinancialperformanceofrespectiveareas, inorderto anticipate trends and identify weaknesses in budgetary control systems and toestablish any implications on corporate support services and service fundingstreams.
  • Toleadonthefinancial supportforanumberofstrategicprojectsorservicedevelopmentswithinthedivision.
  • RESPONSIBILITYFORFINANCIALANDPHYSICAL RESOURCES
  • To lead the annual budgetary cycle for specified service lines, using specialist knowledge and expert systems. To provide challenge to operational managers and clinicians on budget setting assumptions and work with budget holder to assessriskandmitigationstrategies.
  • Thepostholderwillbeakeycustomerofthemanagementreportingteamandwillneed to ensure the coordination, review, integrity and timeliness of the monthlyfinancialreportingprocess for specifiedservicelines.
  • Overseedaytodayadministrationforservicelinesof thebudgetarycontrolsystemsuch that respective budget have complete accurate timely and relevant financial information available enabling them to control costs within their areas ofresponsibilityandtofulfilthe
