This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations, while supporting business strategy in a highly regulated environment. The role requires a strong background in Finance with solid knowledge of pharma-specific areas such as the VPAG scheme along with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and audit management.
The individual reports directly to the Finance & Operations Director, and works closely with all departments to support strategic, operational, and financial objectives. A requirement of the role would be to attend the London office 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the consolidation of the monthly results (management information) with strong Balance Sheet control.
- Budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning
- Assist in introducing structure, policy and discipline into all Accounting processes (AP/AR. Bank, Reconciliations and Inventory Accounting)
- Overseeing the year‑end Audit process and tax related topics
- Provide insightful financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Build and embed financial policies, authorisation frameworks and robust internal controls.
- Assist in preparation and submission of external reports
- Acting as a key advisor in all company financial matters to support the business expansion, including:
- Strategic planning.
- Costs Control.
- Review of projects.
- Identifying business and financial risks.
Profitability improvement
- Education: Degree, Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Languages: English. Knowledge of other languages will be an asset.
- Experience (years/area): +5 years of financial experience, preferably in Pharmaceutical sector.
- Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of reporting and controlling tools and strong knowledge of Microsoft office, ERP systems. Good knowledge of local Finance, Accounting and Tax Laws and Regulations. Knowledge of the VPAG Scheme.
- Personal skills: ability to work independently and in a team. Strategic and analytical thinker with the confidence to advise and counsel business. Can prioritise and works well under pressure.
