Pearse Partners are currently partnered with a Leading Investment Bank who are looking for a Leveraged Finance Associate to join the Investment Banking Division. The Leveraged Finance team is responsible for structuring, underwriting, and syndicating leveraged loans and high-yield bond financings in support of M&A transactions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancings. The Associate will play a critical role in transaction execution, financial analysis, and client engagement, working closely with senior bankers, private equity sponsors, and institutional investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of leveraged finance transactions, including LBO financings, acquisition financings, recapitalizations, and refinancings
- Build and review detailed financial models, including LBO, cash flow, credit, and debt capacity analyses
- Prepare marketing and execution materials such as pitch books, credit memoranda, offering memoranda, and lender presentations
- Conduct industry, company, and credit analysis to assess risk and structure appropriate financing solutions
- Assist in the structuring of loan and bond products, including term loans, revolvers, high-yield bonds, and mezzanine instruments
- Coordinate with syndicate, capital markets, sales & trading, legal counsel, and internal risk partners throughout transaction life cycles
- Interact directly with private equity sponsors, corporate management teams, and investors
- Mentor and review work product of Analysts and provide day-to-day guidance
- Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; strong academic performance
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, credit, or related fields
- Strong financial modelling skills, including LBO and credit analysis
- Solid understanding of capital structures, debt instruments, and leveraged finance markets
