Salary Guide: £80,000 - £100,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a fast-growing UK solar platform delivering long-term agreements for leading institutional asset owners. The business originates, develops, and delivers high-quality solar projects and works with established funding partners to finance assets h a strong development pipeline and ambitious growth plans, the business is now looking to facilitate this growth through team expansion.

We are now seeking a high-calibre Financial Controller to sit at the heart of the financing, planning, and capital strategy. Reporting directly to the Founder and CFO and working closely with the Financial Director, as well as meaningful exposure to the Founder / CEO, which makes this a significant and important hire.

The role has a primary focus on financial control, but will also play an important part in project finance, FP&A and capital markets support.

A key part of the role is creating a joined-up financial operating model across procurement, financing, and accounting. You will own and optimise the finance systems and lead the integration of finance with CRM and procurement tools to improve automation, accuracy, and visibility.

Working alongside the Financial Director, you will help deliver high-quality monthly management accounts, reporting packs and cash reporting suitable for a rapidly scaling project business, ensuring tight alignment between project delivery and financial performance. In addition, you will play a significant part in supporting future capital raises, both debt and equity. This will include preparing investor-grade models, presentations, and data room materials, as well as supporting diligence processes with clear, well-structured financial outputs.

This opportunity will suit a graduate, qualified Accountant, ideally having trained at a leading UK accountancy firm, with strong excel and PowerPoint capability and the confidence to present to senior internal and external stakeholders. The successful individual will need to have experience in either renewables, preferably Solar, or at the very least have worked in a fast paced, infrastructure and regulated environment.

You will be commercially minded, highly organised, and comfortable owning multiple live work streams simultaneously.

Hands‑on experience with Xero and integrated finance systems is preferred, while exposure to project finance, long‑term contracted revenue models or capital raising processes would be highly advantageous. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys ownership, pace, and operating close to the founders in a scaling environment.
