Overview

Artscapy Finance Limited ("Artscapy Finance" or "AF") is the dedicated art-backed lending arm of the Artscapy group. Operating alongside the Artscapy platform, AF originates, underwrites and manages secured loans backed by fine art collateral, enabling collectors and art-market participants to unlock liquidity by pledging their artworks as collateral in securitised borrowing. AF leverages the broader Artscapy ecosystem including valuation, provenance, portfolio tools, advisory, logistics, storage and sales execution to deliver a fast, secure and institutional-quality credit process.

About the role

The Loan Underwriter will play a key role in originating, underwriting and executing art-backed loans at Artscapy Finance. This position is central to ensuring consistent credit quality, disciplined risk management, and scalable deployment of capital through AF’s securitised lending model. The role sits at the intersection of credit analysis, secured lending execution, collateral due diligence, and borrower relationship management, working closely with internal stakeholders across underwriting, compliance, logistics, and the wider Artscapy platform.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7+ years of professional experience, including 1–3+ years in secured lending / asset-backed lending, and strong interest and familiarity with the art market. Prior experience in art-secured lending is highly preferred.

Key responsibilities
  • Underwrite art-secured loans (credit assessment, structuring, pricing, risk analysis)
  • Prepare credit memos and present recommendations internally
  • Conduct / coordinate collateral due diligence (title, provenance, authenticity, valuation inputs)
  • Support loan execution through closing (documentation, conditions, drawdown coordination)
  • Monitor loans post-close (LTV movement, collateral oversight, reporting)
  • Help originate new deals by sourcing and engaging collectors, advisors, introducers and intermediaries
What we’re looking for
  • 5–7+ years professional experience in relevant fields (underwriting / credit / secured lending preferred)
  • 1–3+ years experience in secured lending / ABL preferred
  • Strong understanding of structured / securitised lending
  • Genuine interest in art and familiarity with the art market
  • Highly preferred: prior experience in art-secured lending
  • Experience in engaging potential borrowers and structuring underwriting opportunities
  • Commercial mindset and confidence engaging borrowers directly
  • Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and ownership mentality
What we provide
  • Competitive salary
  • Commissions
  • Private health insurance
  • Great exposure to a fast-growing art-tech startup with enthusiastic founders and core team
  • Flexible working
  • The chance to shape your professional development path and grow within a bigger organisation
  • A collegial and collaborative environment to propose creative ideas
