A leading charity foundation is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely financial management across multiple UK and international entities. This role will lead on management reporting, forecasting, cashflow planning, and the preparation of annual reports and accounts. The post-holder will also support oversight of the Foundation’s investment portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations, ensuring strong controls and accurate record keeping.
- Produce monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and narrative reporting for senior leadership.
- Prepare annual accounts and support the delivery of audits.
- Monitor cashflow, arrange investment redemptions, and track FX requirements.
- Oversee payments to grantees and suppliers, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain complete financial records.
- Prepare finance papers for committee and board meetings.
- Support oversight of investment portfolios and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain financial control documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiency.
- Provide financial analysis support to Grant Managers and assist the wider team when needed.
About You
- Qualified accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in a finance function.
- Strong financial management skills with experience in statutory accounts, ideally within the charity sector (SORP knowledge desirable).
- Skilled in management accounting, budgeting, and working with general ledger systems.
- Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and confident communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfortable working with databases.
- Experience with in an international or complex organisation is advantageous.
- Highly organised, collaborative, and able to prioritise competing deadlines.
- A proactive, humble team player with strong emotional intelligence and alignment with the Foundation’s values.
