What you'll do

As an Indirect Tax Manager based in London, you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert advice on VAT, customs duty, green taxes, and other indirect tax matters to a wide range of clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve building trusted relationships with clients by understanding their business challenges and providing tailored solutions that add real value. You will be instrumental in identifying areas of risk as well as opportunities for improvement within client operations.

By managing project budgets efficiently and contributing to business development efforts, you will help drive the success of the team. Your commitment to coaching junior colleagues will ensure the continued growth of talent within the organisation. Working alongside experienced directors and partners as well as specialists in related fields will enable you to broaden your expertise while making a meaningful impact on client outcomes.

  • Provide high quality indirect tax advice to clients in accordance with UK legislation, HMRC guidance, and relevant local tax jurisdiction rules, drawing on support from international colleagues when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships by delivering dependable service and understanding their unique business needs across various sectors.
  • Identify VAT risks and opportunities for clients by developing innovative solutions tailored to their specific circumstances.
  • Manage project finances effectively by developing budgets, overseeing billing processes, and ensuring profitable delivery of client engagements.
  • Contribute to business development activities by supporting marketing initiatives aimed at expanding the team's client base.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members from both technical and commercial perspectives, providing clear direction and constructive feedback to foster their professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, partners, and specialist colleagues in International Tax, Transfer Pricing, Trade & Customs to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
  • Monitor service quality standards rigorously to ensure consistent delivery of excellent outcomes for clients.
  • Uphold ethical standards by recognising risk issues within client service environments and involving others appropriately when required.
