Interim Financial Accountant

My client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented interim Finance Accountant to support the Finance Manager and wider finance team in all aspects of the company’s accounting systems and financial arrangements. This role will play a key part in the day-to-day accounting activities of the business, supporting the preparation of management and statutory accounts, and contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes across the group.

The successful candidate will assist with implementing systems, initiating improvements, and providing ongoing input into the annual accounts and statutory reporting requirements.

The Finance Accountant will be responsible for preparing quarterly management accounts and year-end accounts for assigned companies within the group. This includes maintaining profit and loss ledgers and balance sheet accounts, reconciling control accounts, and reviewing intercompany balances to ensure accuracy. The role will involve monitoring customer, vendor, and intercompany accounts, identifying any unresolved issues, and resolving them promptly. The position will also require reviewing, checking, and inputting income and expense data received from property management agents, working closely with their finance teams to resolve discrepancies or missing supporting documentation.

The Finance Accountant will monitor actual spend against budget where applicable and assist in the preparation of financial statements and the year-end audit process. In addition, the Finance Accountant will support the implementation of corporate governance procedures, risk management, and internal controls. The role will involve continuous review of accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations, as well as assisting with ad-hoc projects and finance initiatives as required.

For this role you must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) and be immediately available. You must be proactive and hands‑on. Experience with Case Ware is desirable but not essential.
