You will be joining a team of 8 committed and inspiring individuals who are committed to Solace’s mission of preventing violence and abuse, and providing services to meet the needs of survivors of gender‑based violence, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.

About

the Role

The Management Accountant will work closely with the Head of Finance to enhance financial services and provide supportive management accounting  will work alongside the Assistant Management Accountants to produce accurate and timely internal and external financial reports, and will have line‑management responsibilities for the two Assistant Management Accountants.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly income and expenditure reports for complex allocated projects and the organisation as a whole, the monthly cashflow, and funder reports.
  • Leading on the preparation of the budget and half‑yearly forecasting.
  • Ensuring management accounts are produced within established deadlines, with commentary of financial reporting variances.
  • Meeting regularly with budget holders and explaining accounts to non‑finance colleagues.
  • Providing project terms and financial information to the Director of Finance and Business Support and Head of Finance.
  • Providing fast responses to requests for pricing support for new bids, grant applications, tenders and other relevant financial information.
  • Assisting and supporting in the preparation of the year‑end close and audit.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance to develop a business partnering approach between Finance and the wider organisation.
About You

The successful candidate will be a near or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CCAB) or qualified by experience, and desirably with knowledge of charity SORP reporting requirements and multi‑project accounting experience.

You should be able to produce accurate reporting in a timely manner, work under pressure to meet deadlines, be a strong team player as well as working independently, and communicate clearly with non‑finance budget holders. A strong knowledge of Excel and financial systems is required.

Salary and Hours

£42,978 per annum.

37.5 hours per week.
