Financial Controller

We’re working with a fast-growing media business to hire a Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and support the leadership team with high-quality financial insight. This role is ideal for a hands-on FC who enjoys operating in a dynamic, creative environment and partnering closely with non-finance stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring robust financial control, improving processes, and supporting strategic decision-making as the business continues to scale.

• Own the day-to-day finance function
  , including month-end close, management accounts, and balance sheet integrity
• Prepare monthly management reporting
  , variance analysis, and commentary for senior leadership
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Oversee statutory accounts
  , audit processes, and external advisors
• Ensure strong financial controls, policies, and compliance across the business
• Partner with commercial, production, and operational teams to support decision-making
• Review and improve finance systems, processes, and reporting as the business grows
• Manage and develop junior finance team members (where applicable)
• Support ad-hoc projects including growth initiatives, new revenue streams, and business planning

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience in a media, creative, content, or fast-paced commercial environment
• Strong technical accounting and financial control background
• Commercially minded with the ability to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders
• Comfortable in a hands-on role within a scaling business
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working autonomously
